See the jungle from a completely different angle. A short 30-minute drive from Drake Bay drops you at the edge of primary rainforest, where an hour-long hike leads you deeper into the wild — keep watch for playful monkeys, colorful lizards and tropical birds along the way. The trail opens onto a hidden waterfall, your reward for the walk in: a swim in cool, clear water and a moment to catch your breath among the trees.
From there, slip on a life vest and let the current carry you gently downriver, drifting past the same green walls of forest you just hiked through — a completely different, weightless way to experience it. The float ends with a 45-minute walk to a nearby beach, where lunch is waiting before the ride back to town.
Good to know: the hike isn’t difficult, but during the rainy season the primary-forest trail can get slippery.
